About Us
A Family Affair
Honeybees have been in Al (Hon as in honey) Taylor's family since his grandmother raised bees more than a half century ago. A fresh bowl of honey was always available on the table and the beehives in the backyard hummed with activity. Hon Taylor Honeybees is a small, family operation. We emphasize quality and we take personal pride in tending to our beehives the old fashioned way without harsh chemicals.
Gentle Bees
We feature gentle, small cell honey bees. Our bees come from stock known to be good producers and they are a pleasure to work. Our breeding queens include Italian, Carniolan, Caucasian and Purdue "Mite Chewer" genetics. We add queens and bees from select Tennessee beekeepers and high quality national breeders to assure diversity in our bees. We do not have migratory pollinators in our stock. Our apiary is registered with the state of Tennessee and is inspected annually by the Tennessee State Apiarist, We are members of the Nashville Area Beekeepers Association, Rutherford County Bee Association, Wilson County Beekeepers Association, Ky Queen Bee Breeders Association and the Tennessee Beekeepers Association.
NUCs - Packages - Queens
Our NUCS include everything you need for a strong, healthy hive - 5 frames of gentle bees and a laying queen with eggs, larvae and brood in all stages of development. We offer both medium and deep frame NUCs. If you are interested in joining the growing family of beekeepers or if you are looking to expand your existing hives, we are eager to serve you.
